The beacon of knowledge ignited for higher technical education continues to inspire the growth of RJIT.
Life & Contribution
As the founding father of the Border Security Force, and as its Director General, Padma Vibhushan Late Shri K.F. Rustamji had always had the larger interest of the men at the top of his heart. He always felt that the children of the personnel of the BSF operating in remote areas, and those who lay down their lives in the honour of the country, should be cared for by providing proper education facilities for them.
In this direction, his extended interest and vision gave an opportunity to start the first ever Engineering College established by a Para Military Force in India. As a result of his relentless efforts and persuasions, Sir Dorabji Tata Trust, Mumbai accorded a grant worth Rs. 300 Lakhs for the development of laboratories of the Institute.
The beacon of knowledge ignited by Late Rustamji for providing higher technical educational facilities for the children of the valiant BSF personnel protecting the territorial integrity of the country would always be an inspiration and a guiding factor to develop this Institute as one of the premier educational Institutes of India.
